Turn your iPhone into a Blackberry

This is a totalitarian app that takes over your personal smartphone and turns it into a highly regulated corporate dumbphone. 1) It allows your IT department to decide what apps you should and should not have on your phone and implement their wishes directly without your approval. They also see your complete list of apps. 2) It tracks your location 24/7 and sends it to a corporate server. Even if you dont mind your firm watching your every move, this constant surveillance can dramatically shorten battery life (like they even admit in the description of the app). 3) It forces you (at least in my firm) to choose a complicated lock screen password with letters, numbers, and special characters -- so forget about checking email or news etc. during a 20-second elevator ride because youll lose the convenience of just flipping out your phone to check something quickly. Overall, Id rather carry both my corporate Blackberry dumbphone and my personal iPhone (even though I hate carrying two devices) than cripple my iPhone with this portal that destroys the convenience and freedom Ive enjoyed on my iPhone.

Not bad

I really like it

Worth the inconveniences

Everything Von Hayek says is true. --long pass code --gps on constantly --corporate IT monitoring But, I dont do anything very private on my phone so the convenience of one device for personal and private is worth it. Also our corporate option was blackberries and I was constantly missing voice mails, txt messages and calls because of the horrible home screen. With the improved interface on my iPhone that is no longer a problem.

Isnt installing

App wont install on iPad2

Rubbish

Rubbish .. Kills battery .. I need a phone that I can use to TALK .. Having my battery drained by 30% overnight when it used to be 2% is crazy!

Kills the battery

After installing the app, the battery would die in a half of a day instead of over a full day like before.

Junk

Connection failed.... thats all it does.

Battery Drainer, Unnecessary

Got only 3 hours of standby time after installing this app. One of my clients requires this app. The solution was to not install this app and no longer have access to my email and calendar, something I had access to previously. This is a solution to a non-problem that my client unfortunately bought into, now I will no longer be as connected to their business.

Battery Issue with 6.1.2?

I installed the latest version of Alfaria and iOS 6.1.2 at almost the same time. One or both or working together my battery drains 1% every 2-4 minutes and I am not even using the phone. Please do some testing and confirm or deny this!

Help!!! Battery drain

I installed the latest upgrade and now my iPhone battery drains in less than 1/2 a day!! Is it possible to roll back to an earlier version? Please help. My iPhone is useless thanks to this app.

App does what it is intended to do

This is nor an end user app, so unless your company is setting this up on your company phone, dont bother with this app. As for battery drain, a Mophie juicepak solves the problem, which is why my company included one with our iPhones. Yea, the app feels big brotherish, but if the phone belongs to your company, they have a right to oversee it just as they do on their PCs on their network. Which is a darn good reason to keep private things OFF your company phone, including creating separate Apple or other accounts on your work phone. A PIA on some levels, but worth it if you value your privacy!!
